Welcome to my web pages. Here you will find a collection of my current and past work. I am currently a student at Coventry University doing a BA in Photography. This will be my third career change, having been a successful musician for fifteen years and a sports massage therapist for the last twenty.
My interest in photography started in an unconventional way with wanting to put something on my wall at home. This then developed in to a keen interest with a HNC qualification at Sandwell College. The body of work produced at Sandwell went on to gain international recognition by winning the My Back Yard 3 competition run by the London Photographic Association in 2007.
My photographic influences are wide ranging but I get most influence from music. My ideas usually develop with some tune in my head. I am interested in documentary work but will take on most photographic challenges.

Honorable Mention of the 2009 International Photography Awards. This is an ongoing collaboration between myself and shyster/shyster shadow theatre company. To challenge the ideas of people with learning difficulties being unable to perform challenging tasks. The image was taken from a set I did with three members of the company.

shysters and the shystershadows. This series of images is from a three year documentary project I am undertaking with this theatre company. The company works with adults and young people with learning difficulties. The idea behind this project is to challenge and explore people’s perception of adults and young people with learning difficulties in as much as they are unable to perform complex tasks etc. Like all individuals they have the same needs, problems and feelings as we all have. After three years there will be a detailed account of the life of this theatre company and the people involved on video, theatre and through images.

The Things I See When I Drive PT1 As I drive the roads of Britain, I am always fascinated by the things that I see. In this short video I show some of the things I encounter on my travels. This is an on going project which is also inspired by the music of Biosphere, of which I am a fan.Bench Tales This bench is a place of remembrance, it is a place to sit and reflect. It can be used as a meeting place a place to watch the world go by. It is an object in its own environment. It can be passed without a second thought as if it doesn’t exist. That in itself gives it a power, a magic if you like, as it is self contained within its own space. It can be used as a clandestine meeting place, a place of sorrow, a place of joy. It is an environment, an object that can be loved or abused.
What I tried to achieve with this project was all the above. A large proportion of this animation was shot candidly. I also used shysters theatre company to help contrive some of the scenarios.
Waiting for the plumber This is my first all video production. You book for a trades man to come and do a repair i.e. plumber and they dont arrive. So what do you do while you wait? Make a video of the day. A lighthearted romp through the non arrival of the plumber. Turns out he has gone on holiday without notifying me. Trades man eh.....
Spencer Park. First in a series of short documentaries about the place that I live. Earlsdon. Spencer Park is a pocketsize park with bowling green and tennis courts. This short video is a half-hour snapshot of things that happen in the park.
Mickleton Road. Second in a series of short documentaries about the place that I live. Earlsdon. Mickleton Road is like any other road in Earlsdon with houses that were built between 1901-11. Sometimes standing watching the ordinary can be out of the ordinary it is surreal. Or maybe it is sign of my misspent youth.
